Surveyor’s Banquet

acquireUncategorized

Last month, I was asked to attend and speak at the North Carolina Society of Surveyor’s anniversary banquet.  I worked with surveyor’s throughout the past session mainly in the legislation for Senate Bill 9, The Utilities/Design/Survey Location Services Bill.

One of my mantras as a legislator has been making sure that all concerned or involved parties have a voice at the table when it comes to crafting legislation. This is something that I worked to do in Senate Bill 9, and this bill which went into effect last summer, means surveyors will be more involved with the Underground Damage Prevention Act.  Surveyors have a special set of skills and knowledge that is incredibly useful in the field.

I was honored and humbled to be invited to this event as the keynote speaker. I would like the thank the North Carolina Society of Surveyors for putting on this event and for the exemplary work that they do in North Carolina.
