World Speech Contest at C. Wayne Collier Elementary

On Tuesday, February 25th, I was asked to be a judge for the World Speech Contest at C. Wayne Collier Elementary. I was also given a tour of the school by Principal Rose Ferguson and Assistant Principal Chad McClamb. This was a great event that I truly enjoyed being a part of.

All of the students did a great job on their speeches; the amount of effort and work that they put into them was more than evident. The ability to get up in front of a group of people and speak confidently is a skill that I have come to really appreciate in my time as a legislator. “Healthy Living” was their topic and each student did their own research on the subject. Then the students made a three to five minute long presentation.
