National Conference of Insurance Legislators

In a press release from the National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL), I was named as the representative on behalf of the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL) for their position on the Advisory Council of the NCOIL. ¬†From their press release, “NCOIL is an organization of state legislators whose main area of public policy interest is insurance¬†legislation and regulation. Most legislators active in NCOIL either chair or are members of the committees¬†responsible for insurance legislation in their respective state houses across the country.”

As co-chair of the North Carolina State Senate Insurance Committee, I have been a part of NCOIL for some time now. Additionally, I am honored to be chosen for this advisory council. This council was formed to aggressively pursue regulatory issues in insurance that are of a growing concern. We need to stay out in front on this battle; the NCOIL works to help protect state-level consumer protections and also aims to promote a more thorough understanding of the successful state-based insurance oversight systems.

I will be attending this advisory council meeting from March the 7th to the 9th and greatly look forward to the work that we will do there.
