National Conference of Insurance Legislators

acquireUncategorized

In a press release from the National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL), I was named as the representative on behalf of the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL) for their position on the Advisory Council of the NCOIL.  From their press release, “NCOIL is an organization of state legislators whose main area of public policy interest is insurance legislation and regulation. Most legislators active in NCOIL either chair or are members of the committees responsible for insurance legislation in their respective state houses across the country.”

As co-chair of the North Carolina State Senate Insurance Committee, I have been a part of NCOIL for some time now. Additionally, I am honored to be chosen for this advisory council. This council was formed to aggressively pursue regulatory issues in insurance that are of a growing concern. We need to stay out in front on this battle; the NCOIL works to help protect state-level consumer protections and also aims to promote a more thorough understanding of the successful state-based insurance oversight systems.

I will be attending this advisory council meeting from March the 7th to the 9th and greatly look forward to the work that we will do there.
